Territory families and businesses will benefit from a user-friendly website that provides interactive access to information and data on local aged-care services and usage.
Country Liberals Senator for the Northern Territory, Nigel Scullion, says the unique GEN site breaks down details of each of the 73 aged-care regions across Australia.
The Northern Territory has five aged-care regions: Darwin, East Arnhem, Katherine, Barkly and Alice Springs.
“The Coalition Government is committed to making life easier for older Australians, local businesses and community organisations,” Senator Scullion said.
“Whether you’re an individual or a family looking for aged-care information, or a company looking to develop care services, GEN is a new-generation internet tool.
“It will also benefit students, researchers and local governments – in fact, anyone or any group needing aged-care data.”
Senator Scullion said NT residents would appreciate the clear language and easy-to-understand infographics, which can be customised to individual needs.
The GEN website was created using extensive databases, including ABS and census data, collected from regional and metropolitan centres.
“It is a credit to the designers and those who worked behind the scene to gather the information and data that sits behind this innovative tool. This is the first time we have a central repository, that will prove immensely useful for people across the Territory,” Senator Scullion said.
“If you can’t find the information you need, there is also a simple function to request extra detail.”
