Country Liberals Senator for the Northern Territory, Nigel Scullion, has announced Coalition Government funding to support essential advocacy and welfare services for veterans, serving members and their families, war widows and widowers in Darwin and Palmerston.
Senator Scullion said the Government would provide $18,758.41 through the Building Excellence in Support and Training grants programme to fund local ex-service organisations to continue providing help and advice to the veteran community.
The Palmerston RSL Sub-branch will receive $13,440.86 and the Darwin RSL Sub-branch, $5317.55.
“Our local ex-service organisations are making a real difference in the lives of veterans and Australian Defence Force personnel by providing essential services from a trusted source,” Senator Scullion said.
“This money will help fund salaries for trained advocates and pension staff, essential office supplies, computer equipment, internet access and other administrative needs.
“The Coalition Government is committed to providing ongoing support for our veterans, war widows and widowers, current serving Australian Defence Force personnel and their families in Darwin and Palmerston.”
