Labor’s Climate Action Policy – DO AS I SAY, NOT WHAT I DO
While the Gillard Labor government is spending millions of taxpayer dollars in promoting their clean energy future - including encouraging Australians to switch to solar hot water systems - the government is busily ripping out solar hot water systems and replacing them with electric systems in Aboriginal communities, said Senator Scullion today.
“When Minister Wong was confronted in parliament today by this blatant example of government hypocrisy she found no where to hide, said Senator Scullion.
“Instead of attempting to once again try and defend this incompetent Labor government from the indefensible, she tried to launch a distraction by accusing the opposition of asking the wrong minister the question.
“The question was not about Aboriginal housing policy, said Senator Scullion.
“The question was about the gross hypocrisy of the Labor Government spending taxpayer’s money in encouraging Australians to switch to solar hot water heating while doing the exact opposite in replacing solar hot water systems for electric hot water systems in houses that they build or renovate.
“Australians deserve much more than a government that spends their money in telling them to listen to what they say and not what they do, said Senator Scullion.
“As a direct result of Labor incompetence, Aboriginal Australians living in remote communities will see their power bills and therefore their cost of living explode due to the installation of expensive electric hot water systems even before they are forced to pay the additional cost that will come with Labor’s carbon tax.
