The Territory’s debt creator, job destroyer and economy wrecker in-chief Nicole Manison has once again blatantly lied about how the Commonwealth Grants Commission calculates the Goods and Services Tax (GST) relativities and distributes revenue among the states and territories.
Today’s media release from the Gunner Government’s financially illiterate Treasurer claiming that her own federal Labor colleagues have legislated to cut the Territory’s share of GST shows just how desperate and morally bankrupt this Territory Labor Government is.
The Northern Territory chief jobs and investment killer Nicole Manison said today that Territory Labor’s debt and deficit disaster that she and Michael Gunner have created: was made much worse when the Commonwealth government legislated a brutal $500 million in cuts from our annual GST revenue.
There is no legislation that has reduced the Territory’s share of GST by $500 million – in fact the Coalition Government has ensured that the Territory will be at least $258 million better off over the next eight years.
Clearly Nicole Manison is attempting the worst April Fool’s joke ever but Territorians are not the fools she takes them for.
It is not surprising that the nation’s most incompetent Treasurer is unaware or unfamiliar with how legislation works or indeed how the Commonwealth Grants Commission operates.
There is one thing that is becoming increasingly clear: that a vote for Bill Shorten is a vote for a Michael Gunner like government in Canberra.
