Territorians are encouraged to come together to celebrate the NT’s cultural diversity on Harmony Day – 21 March.
Country Liberals Senator for the Northern Territory, Nigel Scullion, said the Northern Territory was made up of people from many backgrounds.
“We are proud to celebrate our rich diversity in the Territory. Harmony Day is a great opportunity to stop and think about how we can continue to foster a sense of belonging for everyone,” Senator Scullion said.
“We have a proud history of welcoming people from all over the world and our community is stronger because of it.
“There are many ways people can celebrate Harmony Day and the benefits of our cultural diversity.
“I want to encourage individuals and community groups to think about how they can join in Harmony Day celebrations, whether that’s holding an event or learning more about the backgrounds of those in our community.
“Encourage your school, university, sporting club or workplace to share the benefits of celebrating how our multicultural community contributes to our shared future.”
