A Northern Territory business has won a prestigious award at the 55th Australian Export Awards.
SRA Information Technology won the Environmental Solutions category for their excellence in business software solutions and environmental data management systems.
Country Liberals Senator for the Northern Territory, Nigel Scullion, said the awards honour the innovation and achievement of Australian companies.
“It’s great to have a Northern Territory business recognised at this level,” Senator Scullion said.
“Our community is full of innovative and high-calibre businesses, so it’s great to see one shine on the national stage.”
CEO of SRA Information Technology, Steven Rowe, said they were honoured to receive the award.
“Our recognition at the Australian Export Awards is validation that NT businesses are quite capable of growing out of our territory base, and competing on an international stage,” Mr Rowe said.
SRA Information Technology was one of 77 finalists in contention for an award. Together, the finalists generated more than $3.9 billion in export sales in 2016–17 and employ more than 31,000 people.
Senator Scullion said the Turnbull Coalition Government was pursuing an ambitious trade agenda to create new export opportunities for Northern Territory businesses.
“More exports equal more local jobs. That’s why we’re working to secure new trade agreements to open new markets for NT exporters.”
