Country Liberals Senator for the Northern Territory Nigel Scullion says Labor Member for Lingari Warren Snowdon has no right to join the celebrations around the Tennant Creek weather radar being switched back on today as he did nothing to help.
“Warren Snowdon said on Twitter:A win for the Barkly community & a win for common sense with the Tennant Creek weather radar back up & running today.
“Mr Snowdon showed no common sense as a member of the Gillard Government when he went along with the decision to close Tennant Creek Weather radar late last year.
“The people of Tenant Creek and the Barkly, including Mike Nash and the Country Liberals candidate for Lingiari Tina MacFarlane and NT Cattlemen’s Association executive director Luke Bowen, stood up against Snowdon’s and the Gillard Government’s decision to close the radar and forced them to reverse the decision.
“Warren Snowdon did nothing. He sat on his hands. Obviously he has been in the job too long. His heart’s not in it anymore and it’s about time Lingiari had a local member prepared to have a go,” Senator Scullion said.
